Angry newbie with problems

First off this is a great site! I have new XD-45 compact I purchased 2 months ago. Ive put about 350 rounds down it with no problems at all. Tonight my wife is shooting the gun and she fires about 7 or 8 shots off then her last round is not normal . Long story short bullet is stuck about 3/4 inch down barrel. The bullets were winchester 230gr fmg just standard bulk rounds , the same stuff we have been shooting. Question is how much damage is done? Again this is a great site and I have learned a lot from yall this is just a little wierd.

Assuming you didn't fire another round after the stuck one (don't laugh, it happens all the time), I can't see why this would harm the gun. Even then it would probably just bulge the barrel and you could put in a new one.

As long as the barrel looks okay and the gun cycles by hand with no dragging or hang-ups, just knock the bullet out with a rod.

The barrel bulging was my main concern.

Knock that sucker loose and send that ammo to Winchester!! Call up Winchester and tell them what happened. They will most likely want the left over ammo or tell you to dump it and try to make things right with you!

squibs like that do happen from time to time, and more commonly with wwb. As long as you didn't fire another round(which you would have known, chances are it would have went boom) you are fine. Use some oil to help it come out easier, then use a dowel rod close to .45(preferably with a patch wrapped around it) with a hammer to knock it out. no big deal, just watch out for that to happen. Last thing you want is an XD in 100 pieces, some of which may be lodged in your head.

I went to a range with a buddy and his dad to do some shooting before I bought my first gun a while back and there were a couple squibs in the reloads, never seen one in factory ammo...and he just pushed it back out and we continued shooting, everything went well.
