XD45 subcompact?

Do you think SA will ever make a xd45 subcompact? I'm afraid I have to go back to carrying a glock. I'm so spoiled now......

XD45 4" compact is as small as a glock 30 or 36 with short mag in it. Still holds 10+1 rounds...Works in desantis pocket holster

Well its thinner but the handle is still a bit longer. BTW my xd .45 4" (service) holds 13+1 with the standard (flush) mag. I use mine for CCW. I love glocks also but they are so fat. and the thinner g36 only has 6 rounds. not enough for me. stick with your service for carry just get the right holster. Im waiting on an MTAC that was just shipped.

True...the XD is a bit taller than the G30
G30 is 4.760" Tall
XD45 Compact is 5" tall

About a 1/4" difference.

XD-40's are very nice. It was my second choice, but I liked the accuracy of the 45. Good luck

The 40 is a great gun. Very accurate for a sub-compact. follow up shots may be slightly delayed vs. the 45 compact due to pretty snappy muzzle flip, but it is definitely a bit smaller and lighter, I carried one for a couple years and really thought it was a great gun, now I usually carry the 45 compact. I have been thinking about getting a small airweight smith revolver for occasions when the 45 compact is just a bit too large. Since the glock 36 really wasn't all that much more easily concealed than the 40sub for me, the small lightweight revolver would be a bigger difference. Either way its a compromise, 5 shot revolver or 6 shot baby glock vs. 11 in the 45C, 10 in the 40sub.

Not to hijack this thread, but can anyone please point me to the "How to" for sawing off a little bit of the XD-45 Service (4") grip/handle to make it into the Compact?

I can't find that link.
