Allen Wrench?

I've seen some pics of guns in their SA cases and they have an allen wrench in them. Is my .45 compact supposed to have one? What are they used for? Thanks guys!

yes you should have one...they tighten or loosen your holster like how tight it grips the pistol...and tightens the mag holders how tight the hold the mags. thats it i think

Look carefully through the foam stuff around the XD, etc for the allen wrench. It ought to be in there somewhere. Lift the stuff out and look around some more. If you can't find it call Springfield up and talk to customer service about it - their number can be found on their website under contact us: Springfield Armory

In addition to using the wrench for the gear the gun comes with, it is also handy for the adjustable holster: XD Adjustable Paddle Holster [XD3500H] - $34.00 : Springfield Armory Store

So look around, if you don't find it give them a call.

The allen wrench allows you to switch calibers. It is a quick and easy process, but for some reason Springfield left it out of the owners manual. You just stick in in the end of the muzzle and seal around it with some metal quick setting epoxy, then fire a +p+ load through it. After you return from the hospital, go buy a new XD in a different caliber, its really that simple.

If you purchase a 1911 from SA then it should come with a very small allen thats used to adjust the rear sight.
