Nice Pics!

Welcome to XD land?

So what do you think of the safety? I have not handled an XD with a safety though I have carried one without for some time now.

Again, Nice Pics!

I love the safety, it doesnt bother me or get in my way at all. I most likely will not use it, but like I said in an earlier post, it's nice to know its there. It's kinda like getting a convertible sports car with the air conditioning option when you know you'll never need it or use it, just nice a feature to have.

Nice I am buying another XD in a couple months for CC and I might consider a safety version. Looks slick and like it will function well.

I'm hoping they offer the Bi-tone XD.45 Tactical with the thumb safety option, that will it'll be like carrying my 1911 cocked and locked.

I have not handled / examined an XD with the safety - your pics help a great deal - thank you. From looking at the pics and my XD that does not have the thumb safety, it appears to me that the safety is mounted in the same place as the pin for the grip safety? Looking at yours, do you see another place for the pin for the grip safety? I'm just curious. Assuming this is right, than the thumb safety is mounted to frame and engages something in the frame? Is that right? I'm just trying to understand it.

I think the thumb safety IS mounted to the frame internally somehow cause I dont see how else they would wanna do it. I rented and shot the xd45 4" service without the thumb safety at the gun shop before i purchased mine and it felt, shot, and looked the same. Great gun!
