Not Painting On Guns

I took my guns back to nearly stock. I will not be moving forward with the idea of painting on them. After seeing that it has potential to cause some confusion to an officer or a kid... I have decided it is not something I want to pursue. My guns look great with very little bling anyway! Thanks, Buzz

Yeah, I didn't think of the kid factor. Oh well, that's probably the best decision.

have you considered colors that are not too out of the ordinary that might still have some of the look that you'd like?

Yep!!!

YEA, I HAVE BEEN PAINTING FOR 25 YEARS. I AM A MOTORCYCLE PAINTER... BUT FORCED TO PAINT SMALL STUFF. THE ORIGINAL IDEA WAS TO PAINT GUN MAGS AND STUFF due to an injury. BUT I SAW SOMETHING on TV about kids and Law Enforcement having to make a split second decision.... I just don't ever want anything I ever did to be associated with that. I was dong the airbrush and theming thing. And it looked cartoon and whimsical like Nose Art from the WW2 art markings on the planes. But, I can also see that painting a gun... certainly the bright orange and reds and purples.... I think that might be heading for trouble. I am just going to stop, before I get started. I do a mean Camo on my personal mags... Ill let it go at that. Thanks, Buzz

Tell you what you could do - I build models. Lots of them. I am a *horrible* artist when it comes to painting, though. I know a lot of people who would pay pretty good money to have models painted "era". For example, if I build a Corsair model, it looks like trash until it's painted - I can't paint - you can. I'm sure there are lots of people like myself out there, you could probably get a pretty good gig going for yourself. I make this example, because you like WW2 nose art. Imagine painting some B52s.

Good luck,
David

Here is an idea... what if you bought some blue guns and sprayed them with a coat of black to start. then you could paint them how you planned on painting your guns originally and have them mounted or placed in an area of your home that displays your artistic abilities. this way you would neve rhave to worry about your initial concern of police mistaking your real gun for a fake one, etc. Just paint model blue guns for the sake of art.
