no they are ALL melonite i was confused by that post also but he was saying that: no xd45 has been made with out it.
i allmost responed to that saying he was wrong but i read it a couple times and it finally clicked what he was trying to say
but i can promise you that every xd45 has melonite (unless it was refinished of course, but all new in box ones have it)
well at least the black ones do i dont know if the stainless is treated with melonite, i heard it is but i dont know for sure

Now not having alot of time on my break and already half running late I saw that price as a great deal. Most places you see are in the $500 range.. Most in the $520 but some as high as $550.
So not wanting to loose a good deal I have the man enough money to hold it untill I could come back with the rest of the money and my Purchase permit.

Now sitting here at the house. Is that a good price for what I want or is he getting sneaky on me.
Meaning is the price normal for that gun, or is he trying to get rid of an older model... (Pre-Melonite finish model)??????

Granted I should have asked before but seen a good price and didnt have enough time to think of all the questions running late on my lunch break.

Last Saturday I picked up an XD .45 Compact Tactical (short grip and long slide) for $516.00 plus another "extension mag" and tax for a total of $545.00 so yeah, if you can pick up an XD compact for $499 that's great!

I paid $569 for a brand new .45 Compact with 10 and 13 round magazines. I'd say your price aint too shabby, lol.

I paind $505 for my stainless service new. I would jump all over another XD if I could find another stainless for that price.

XD .45 are all melonite, $500ish is the normal price. Buy one, you'll like it, don't by one, you're missing out on a good gun!

Why does it seem like everyone here has overpaid for theirs? I got mine for $439 from Bud's and since they are in Kentucky, I paid no taxes.

I don't think any of us overpaid, this pistol is of the quality of the $800 pistols out there. That said, if you're talking about the amount we spent - you got a very good deal, we got "ok" deals. Also, it may have something to do with when you purchased - XDs are in high demand now so pricing seems to be up higher.

That said, be glad you got such a great deal, and don't rub it in to the rest of us.

I would have purchased two and set one up for target, one up for defense if I could have gotten that kind of deal!
