I disagree. I don't use a "wally world special" and if I don't cinch up the belt so tight that I am uncomfortable, I have to adjust WAY more often than I care to, even when I carry the .40 SC. It may have more to do with body shape in my case than not using a "proper gun belt".

I have an XD service model; the CrossBreed Holster ( CrossBreed Holsters, Innovative holsters for concealed carry-1911-Glock-HK-Sig-Taurus-Kimber-Springfield-Colt-XD ) is the best I have found to date - and I have tried a few. I once only carried a Kahr PM40, but the CrossBreed allows me to carry my 'range gun' 99% of the time. I'd rather have to draw a gun I'm accurate with than one that is just easier to carry - the PM40 is OK for close quarters, but my grouping spreads at 25 yds.

Love your SIG line, uk_pony.

There are some of us in California that feel JUST that way.

I have wondered the same thing. I have a tac and will be getting my ccw soon. I ordered the crossbreed about a week ago and cant wait to see how it works. I know the tac is kind of big, but until I get something smaller I will carry it as long as I can hide it. I will probably have to think more carefully when buying clothes though.

For me I'm always belted whether at work or at home and it is used to keep my pants up and well as my gun, so its gonna be snug. Its supposed to be. Not gut busting tight but snug.

The proper gun belt is stiff, generaly double thickness and stitched and that is what fills the clips or loops of the holster made for that width and thick belt, it then supports and spreads the load of the holstered pistol weight.
It's not the tightning of the proper belt that keeps it place its the stiffness and thickness of that belt.

To each his own.

Milt Sparks Versa Max II. I presently carry my XD service in it. I ordered the holster to accomodate the Tactical and it is great. I ordered a compact tactical on Monday so I'll let you know how it works when it gets here.
The belt I use is a Wilderness Frequent Flyer with the Custom Shooter Insert (polymer insert). It is solid.
