Can it be there is another perfect gun!?
Thanks Dave
I thought of another problem with XDs.

Sometimes folks shoot their XD better than I shoot my XD. One guy even shoots my XD better than I shoot my XD.

I have a solution.

Don't let other people out shoot you with your own gun; if they want to shoot an XD than they should do like I did and buy one.

Is that as childish as it sounds?

Well yeah it is, but in a strange sort of way it is also a backhanded complement to the XD.

My friend who out shoots me with my own XD is a big time Glock fan. His carry gun is a Glock model 20: full size frame / slide in 10MM. Now he wants an XD in .45 ACP. He also wants my AR that I shot for the very first time yesterday: a DPMS 308B (18" fluted bbl with Miculek comp and JP trigger). He shoots that ridiculously well.

There are (at least) two morals to this story: 1) XDs rock! 2) Don’t shoot with Force Recon Marines turned cop.

I'm retired le myself. How do you like that DPMS ar-15? It sounded like you were describing mine. I bring mine to the range and my son won't let me shoot it when we go out I darn near need to fight for my turn. He's 15 thinks it's a machine gun or something. By the sounds of the beginning of your post here you really have a lot of problems with xd. Ya it is childish but what can you say right? shooter50

Second I own a Xd45 And love it I just have not carried it for sd yet and was searching for others experience with the guns simply for info. I mean thats what forums are all about. And third I never said any gun was the better I own and carry several brands including the glock and all the guns I own are good pieces of equipment. I have 35000 rds thru a Berreta 92fs and I have 30000 some thousand thru one of my glocks and I have only put 1200 rds thru my Xd none of these guns have had a problem but does that mean I can't ask opinions on any of them? I still get on the glock talk and ask opinions as well as other forums for other guns. I figure it this way you don't like my question don't reply to it.
Shooter50, I certainly didnt mean to offend and wasnt trying to directly accuse you of anything. Lots of glock owners come h ere and continually ask questions about the XD without any real interest inthem whatsoever other than starting an argument. I have read your posts again and I think I understand what you are asking. My apologies for snapping too quickly.

I too have the XD 45 and other than the HST problem I have had, I wouldnt trade it for ANY other handgun I know of.

Apologies excepted. Ok I'm thinking of getting a Xd in the 40 cal. I have like I mentioned the 4' 45 and it shoots very well and straight, the recoil is really soft to me I like it. But now a 40 in the xd sounds like it may be on the list "Warning I'm going to mention glock again" I have a g23 40 cal. and it has a recoil very unsatisfying so that probly will be traded. but anyway if you or anyone shoots the XD40 clue me in on the control of that recoil. Maybe I'm just used to the push of a 45 instead of the snap of the 40. Have a great day. Shooter50
