So Chapie You say the XD is as reliable and dependable as the glock is? How many rounds have you put thru your XD and which one do you carry? You mention on duty also are you LE? If so is that a issued weapon or can you pick your own? Thanks |

The only issue I have had is tmy 45Tac feeding LSWC. If you try them enough, it jambs & dings tha rea of the mag causing the mag to stick. IMO, a 45 should feed the 200grLSWC. It's not a big deal, but does mean I have to handload a diff. bullet for practice now vs my 1911, they feed everything.

Shooter, you are coming across as if you are trying to start a fight. I hope thats not the case. Anyone on XD Talk will affirm that Glocks are fine weapons, nothing wrong with them at all. Just here on XD Talk, most of us prefer the XD for other reasons, mostly for the ergonomics that are more pleasing for us.
Glocks have issues and XD's have issues. Both have different issues though. XD's have been known to, as mentioned before, have the loaded chamber indicator stick, early models had rusty finish problems (now solved), some have feed issues with certain hollow point ammo, and some XD 45's have had the recoil spring assembly crack and fail. Springfield warranties this unconditionally for life and will send another recoil assembly to you free of charge if it happens to your gun. They also have replaced magazines for free. For a combat handgun as affordable, reliable and accurate (and sexy!) as the XD series, it doesnt get too much better than that. If you like Glock better. . . . Glock On!

Only problem I've had with mine is affording ammo to shoot as much as I want . . . LOL
Never owned a Glock, started listening to GunTalk on XM radio and Tom had a SA guy as a guest one day and I decided just to go out and buy one . . . never looked back, now I'm going to buy another this week. Cleaned and maintained, never a problem.

First of all I don't have any Idea where I gave the impression of starting a fight If I wanted to do that it would be directly and there would be no Question of it. Second I own a Xd45 And love it I just have not carried it for sd yet and was searching for others experience with the guns simply for info. I mean thats what forums are all about. And third I never said any gun was the better I own and carry several brands including the glock and all the guns I own are good pieces of equipment. I have 35000 rds thru a Berreta 92fs and I have 30000 some thousand thru one of my glocks and I have only put 1200 rds thru my Xd none of these guns have had a problem but does that mean I can't ask opinions on any of them? I still get on the glock talk and ask opinions as well as other forums for other guns. I figure it this way you don't like my question don't reply to it. |

How to beat Cancer
Hey Older guys and gals I have Just returned from a successful Colon Cancer Removal. I am not allowed to shoot for a short while... I am a 45 cal and up shooter w/ occasional smaller backups. I was Lucky to have inherited a gunshop and had a dad who collected exotics of all calibres and origins. This post is just a sincere word of caution to all who are 50ish ....Please get a Colonoscopy, it may save your life....Getting one just saved mine! A Cancer was discovered on a First time Test, (I stupidly waited till 65) Within 30 days The Cancer was removed I was Anathimosised (put back together) The stay at the hospital gave me Pneumonia and Antibiotics gave me a Thrush (yeast) infection. As soon as my White blood cell count was falling they sent me home to recover. I am whole and here thanks to modern medical science. No matter what Holster, Sights, Ammo,Finish or tricks you might learn here at this Forum you are not going to be able to use any info if you are sick or Gone. So guys and gals if you are lucky enough to own an XD, old enough to benefit from A Colonoscopy. Getting a test may be the best shot you ever fire. Best Regards to all.

I'll just say - you've gotten your answer - now go forth and do great things. No need to keep kicking the thread over and over, everybody pretty much has the same sentiment. You keep kicking the thread, and I think that's why people are perceiving you as a "trouble maker" of sorts.
Cheers, David Quote:
