I just got my bi-tone TS today. All of my semi-auto's have thumb safeties now that my XD40 is gone. I've developed the muscle memory to use them, I don't even realize I'm sweeping the safety on draw. I leave them on whenever there is a round in the chamber, and as a slide lock when there isn't. I've done this for over 25 years. I have and have had just about every popular make of pistol on the mkt and my XD's are my go-to guns. They just flat out work for me.

I know this thread is old but its "sticky" right. Anyway, I got my gun before seeing this video and went to the range and shot it before posting. Man this gun is awesome! I got the one with the thumb safety, it was supposed to be used but if it was, only a few rounds went through it. I got the .45apc and it rocks.
As far as the thumb safety, this is my first gun and I will always use the thumb safety and always practice with the thumb safety. Just like keeping your trigger finger off the trigger until firing, keep the safety on and know to pop it off when aiming. and this video is AWESOME! |
