we use a gaggle of projectiles and brass.

we get an ammo can of FMJ 230Gr. ball from parts unknown and whatever reuasable .45ACP brass we find at the ranges and gun shows. We've just recently started casting our own projectiles from lead wheel weights (which we think are lead alloys) and probably will continue for a good long while. we like it so much that we are considering buying large capacity steel casts instead of the Aluminum twin hand caster we have.

Carry: Hornady 230gr +p 18.99 at the gun shop (box of 20)

Just go with Blazer for 15 dollars a box or .30 a round and I carry either Rem Golden Saber's 230gr Hornady 200 gr +P or 230 gr +p and I am going to try some Win Ranger's +P... I have found that my XD45 will eat just about anything but I prefer the Blazer since I don't reload and they just look cool and function flawlessly and they are made in the U.S.A!

WWB 230 FMJ for target (until I get the reloading set up)
Federal Hydra-shock 230s

Second: The steel case is hard on extractors and chambers, possible to break extractors and wear chambers. It doesn't void the warranty to shoot but wear per se isn't warrantied. Basically if you wear it out shooting it say in 10,000 rounds of steel, don't come crying to SA because you could have put 30,000 rounds of brass in it and still be shooting I guess.
I've read some bad reviews of Wolf (223/5.56) ammo used in AR15s. It had to do with fouling caused by the ammo.

I use 230gr. WWB FMJ 100/$29.88 @ Walmart for target loads (untill I get my reloader setup).
For defensive loads, I use 185gr. +P Federal Hydra-Shok 50/$23.99 @ local gunstore. (they are supersonic which give a flatter trajectory, and deliver around 550lbs/ft. of energy at the muzzle)

Picked up two boxes of Blazer brass on the same trip and they were 14.88 a piece.

You guys must be close to an ammo factory, or not shooting .45's, or maybe yet Sam Walton is just raping me every time I pick up ammo.

I use either Federal Hydrashock 230 grain or Winchester SXT 230 Grain. Neither of them are +P, and I trust them completely.

For practice plinking I use Blazer Brass, MagTech, WWB, and Speer Lawman FMJ 230gr.

For carry defense I have Federal Tactical HST 230gr JHP
