SA claims very dirty for one and can foul up the gun after several rounds causing FTF, FTE, FT go into battery.

Second: The steel case is hard on extractors and chambers, possible to break extractors and wear chambers. It doesn't void the warranty to shoot but wear per se isn't warrantied. Basically if you wear it out shooting it say in 10,000 rounds of steel, don't come crying to SA because you could have put 30,000 rounds of brass in it and still be shooting I guess.

For target I usually use Blazer Brass or winchester. The XD will handle just about any ammo so I just go for the cheapest I can find that uses real brass cases.

Good to know

New to the forum and to owning a Springfield XD 45 ACP (and, well, pistols in general). I "unfortunately" just picked up some Wolf ammo. I'll see to it that I run through it on the range and then just go for brass. Any objections to Remington 230gr? Is Winchester the best bet?

Do you carry the Ranger T or SXT? They quit making Black Talon's about 15 years ago. Hopefully you are not carring something that old.

For the range I use the Winchester white box that comes in 100 pack. Less than $20 at Walmart. Usually end up picking up 2 boxes at a time and it costs me $40 including tax already.

For carry I use Ranger T-Series in all my guns or the Ranger Bonded for deeper penetration.

Blazer Brass from Wal Mart. Best price on plinking ammo. You can pick up 100 rounds for right at $20.00 with tax.
