We reload 45acp in everything from 155g lead to 250gs jhp. Just ordered some 200g RNSWC lead from Kead bullets and can't wait to try them out. I love to try new bullets and powder weights and types. Don't really have a favorite or a standard load other than 200g SWC Lead with 4.5g of Unique and W231.

I have to ask....Your not mixing unique and 231 are you? Also What are RNSWC...Round nose Semi Wadcutters? That's a new one on me.

Given the price increase in ammo over the last two years. I am considering reloading for range ammo. I've started to study up on the process.

I've been working up my load for Hornady FMJ and Win 231, with CCI primers. Without a chrony!

I started on the low side per the manuals at about 5.0 gns. I'm up to about 5.4 gns and the rounds are still pussycats. Hardly any recoil or noise.

45 is probably the BEST round to start reloading on. Big case to see everything, lots of leeway in the pressure design. Many people report they have seen a case failure on 45 in normal reloading use (discounting outright mistakes/KB's).

I'm currently putting 4.9 gr. of WST under FMJ/TMJ 230 gr. bullets. Decently close to the feel of ball ammo, but definitely more accurate for me.

I will warn that this is definitely close to max. Velocity gets erratic and primers flatten mildly any higher than this is my .45's.

Been wanting to get into loading 200 gr. bullets, gonna have to check out some of the ones mentioned here.

I've loaded up some led 230s with Trailboss for the heck of it. Haven't shot them yet though.
