Can I convert a XD45 to XD9
are the parts interchangeable on the XD45 tac vs XD9 tac? Would it even be worth it? to get the parts. Or just get another gun
Thanks |

from what i've read here, it doesn't sound like the slide from a 9, 40, or 357 will fit on a 45 frame (45 is bigger, feeding problems?). plus, it doesn't sound like Sprigfield Armory offers to sells those kinds of major parts.
i also have a 45xd. i've been keeping my eye out for a .22 slide conversion that i read about here awhile ago. cost will probably be compairable to the .22 conversion slide made for the glock...but my info is only from browsing this site, i have no real inside info. |

Advantage arms was supposed to have a 22lr conversion by the end of 07... Nothing yet and my emails go unanswered.

I'd like to see a .22 conversion kit...I'm getting tired of waiting and might just end up buying a new gun.

Convert an XD45 to an XD9......
NO!!!! The two calibers are very different in diameter and length. Converting a 45 to a 9 requires a new upper slide assy and custom mags that will not work with a XD9. Converting a 45 to 9 is no different than converting a 45 to 22lr. If you want a 9....buy a 9....

+1
why would you want to? the XD45 is such a great machine, why would you want to interchange it? |

If it was a plug and play, completely interchangeable I figured I could save on some ammo.
Spoke with Bob of Bobscustomshop today in person about it (I bought a rifle from him) Didn't know he made XD parts! |

because 9mm costs about half as much as .45acp.
