Proper Arm Position?
What is the proper arm position when firing a handgun? I stand with both arm outstretched & elbows locked. I also see people shoot with only one arm outstretched/locked & the other bent at the elbow, forming a "V".
Or does it really make a difference, whichever fits you best ?

I'm right handed and I do it with my right arm almost straight in front of me and the left like 45 degrees. but I guess this is like baseball, no matter if you try to stand like Rodriguez or P. Rose, you will not doit like them. You should try your own way. dry firing will help you a lot as XD is safe to do it.
Take some ammo, try your stand, but remember that a very important thing to take care is at the moment the muzzle goes back, is when you miss the target I'll keep looking around as here you will find many experts whom i really respect and like you, will learn from their feedback. Arm position is based on your stance. Weaver, modified Weaver, Isosceles, etc.

You need to use proper "bone support"
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/inde...howtopic=59132 Ok, but in all seriousness, the links ERRveneno posted should get you started. Todd Jarrett has a video on grip that you can find on Google Video/YouTube too.

In a real life scenario, you will shoot from whatever position lets you put rounds on the bad guy quickly while moving to or shooting from cover. Range and real life have only a passing similarity to each other in most cases. I would recommend shooting from several stances, (prone, kneeling, crouched, leaning, etc.) arm position and both right and left handed, to include one handed shooting with either hand. Do this enough that you know you can hit a target from at least 7 meters in almost any position.

Here is some stuff that doesn't always have great presentation, but has a good grasp on "how to do it", also. Between all the available video of Jarret, etc., there should be some helpful stuff in here:
