Just bought a new 45compact. Brought it home and was carrying it around the house in the supplied holster. Later noticed small scratch marks around the muzzle end of the slide. Was dumbfounded 'til realizing the rivits on my jeans were to blame. uuurgh! I did not realise i would have to stop wearing jeans when carrying!

You can still wear jeans, ditch the holster and get a good IWB holster.

I would expect those marks to come off. The rivets on jeans aren't that tough.

i second the previous quote....its an xd, its made to be worn, used, abused, and still perform. Yes im sure you take pride in your things...but dont sweat the small stuff, go toss it down the driveway then youl forget those small scratches

Yea, I was gonna say drive over it and call it testing, but tossing it down the driveway will work

i dropped mine on the bathroom floor by accident...gun was fine, a few blemishes (but its a carry). one of the tiles on the other hand was not.
