Holster Wear

For us sissies who want to avoid finish wear, do any of the plastic holsters "go easy" on the finish?

Does the XD Gear cheapie "free" holster wear it off quickly?

Thanks.

Only way to keep the gun for getting holster wear is to hard chrome the slide - all holsters will wear a gun eventually. Even Glocks get holster wear - A glock seems to resist it longer than any gun I have prev had - but after 6 months of daily carry - they start to show wear too.

Hard chrome seems to be the finish that lasts the longest. U can get your slide hard chromed for around $100 - give or take.

Or just live with it and think of them as character marks. I'll have to take a picture of my dad's Glock for ya'll that I just inherited. Been his duty weapon for years and has even bounced down the I-20 at 65 MPH when a guy ran my dad off the road on his motorcycle.
