trigger travel
I went to the range today. We just moved to Palmer, Alaska and literally have a fully funcitonal outdoor range in my back yard. It is about 200 steps from my front door to the shack.
Anyway... I fired 3 weapons. A .44 which was a kick in the pants, a .22 revolver which had less recoil than some airsoft guns I've fired, and my XD .45. I noticed that I have to pull the trigger on the .45 MUCH MUCH further than either of the other weapons I fired. Is this normal and can it be fixed? Thanks |

YES it's normal.. It Can be fixed. There is a us made parts you can buy from www.springerprecision.com a new sear, that you can install to reduce the "take up" also he has a trigger bar that further helps take up and overtravel

I also did this to ALL my XD's.. plus I bought the springs to reduce the pull. My XDC 45 pulls about 4.5 lbs... It's as smooth as my HK Tactical 45

well your comparing a revolver to a semi-auto did you fire those guns single action? well since you dont have the option of carring the xd uncocked they put a long trigger pull in it to help prevent accidential discharges

Roger I am with you on the 'AD' but MY HK P7 for example has a VERY short take up....Plus it has a 3lb trigger pull (OEM Factory)..My plain HK P2000 has a shorter take up than the XD...
