California Hi-Cap Limit History?

Disregard, I actually believed some idiot when he said the California Hi-Cap Ban had expired. According to the California State Attorney General's Office, it hasn't...

Did alot of the Califonia gun bans start after the big bank robbery they had? Or were there a ton of bans before that as well?

Do you mean the famous North Hollywood Shootout that happened on 28 Feb 1997? Not sure, but if it did it would have been faulty logic believing that such a ban (which was imposed almost three years afterward) would have prevented that incident as do they really expect criminals to abide by the law?

California’s CCW laws were originally enacted 1923 and mildly revised since. Not sure about the history behind the "high" (read: normal for the rest of us) capacity ban. I think the Brady Campaign and their Campaign Against Illegal Guns had more to do with it (although he was shot by a revolver, a Röhm RG-14 .22 cal loaded with six Devastator bullets, designed to explode on impact, though the only one that did explode was the one that struck Brady). Their web site explicitly states "there are certain classes of weapons that should be out of bounds for private ownership. They include Saturday-night specials, which are used almost exclusively for crime, military-style assault weapons like Uzis and AK-47s, and .50-caliber sniper rifles, which serve no ordinary sporting purpose."

Cheers! M2

"faulty logic"

That pretty much covers it.

After reading about the bit in San Fransisco and then I saw the title on this one, I thought California was being taken over by logic, reasonable people...I guess it was too good to be true.

Probably the biggest single event in the course of kali going completely anti gun was the killing of Mayor Moscone in SF back in 1978. Dianne Feinstein stood over his still warm body with tears streaming down her face and launched her political career fueled with unlimited amounts of anit-gun paranoia. She is probably the single largest reason for the brain-dead throngs here being so rabidly anti gun. She never misses an opportunity to try to shove through ever more restrictive gun laws.

The shootings at "101 California Street" had more to do with the hi-cap band. Many lawyers were shot and killed.

What did Shakespeare say in the play Henry the Sixth?

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers". - (Act IV, Scene II).

Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind.

Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks.
