XD-45 Compact pricing - local availability in ATL/GA area? - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

Hi,

I've been browsing through these forums a bit, and it looks like xd45 compacts are going for ~$500 new. Does this sound accurate? (Some posts were older, wanted to verify pricing hadn't changed significantly.)

I've found a shooting range/shop that sounds like that's about the pricing they'll charge, called "Bull's Eye Indoor Range & Gun Shop." Forum search wasn't helpful (long strings tend not to work so well) - so I was curious if anybody had any experience with them? They're sold out right now (called them earlier today) but say they can order.

Also - I was curious if anybody in the ATL area (I'm actually up in Suwanee, but driving is no big deal) had an XD45 compact they wouldn't mind showing me? I'm really interested in purchasing one, but I'd like to talk with somebody who owns/has used the pistol a fair amount and would be knowledgeable about it's operation/maintenance and wouldn't mind sharing their knowledge with me.

Product literature/manuals are fine and well, but nothing beats first hand experience!

PS - I hope I didn't post this in the wrong forum. I didn't see any regional forums, and since I was interested in the XD-45 specifically, I thought this might be the best forum to post in (instead of general.) Let me know if I'm mistaken, and please - by all means - feel free to move this thread wherever you think it should go!

The price on XDs in the Atlanta area is pretty lousy. The best price I've seen is at Bull's Eye, which you've already checked out. I've bought all of my XDs (including 3 XD45s) from out of state. Even with shipping and FFL fees, the prices have been $70-100 less than local prices. Whittakerguns.com and budsgundshop.com both have decent prices and I've delt with both. Whittaker has XD45 Compacts for $476 (4") and $502 (5") plus shipping. Bud's has the XD45 Compacts for 504 (4") and 541 (5") shipped to your FFL. I even picked up my XD45 Com Tac off of Gunbroker for $495 shipped, so you have to look around.

Franklins in Athens/ Bogart has a used one you can look at. I looked at it this past Saturday.

I got my XD 45C @ The Bargain Barn in Jasper GA for 500.00 +Tax... They have a great selection of XD's too.
