Owner's Manual

In speaking with a friend, he were saying they received an owner's manual and a spent casing with his XD. Mine came from the factory with neither. What should I do?

My guess is that they were in the case from the factory. They probably became disassociated at your dealer. You can download the manual fron SA web site, or SA will send you a replacement manual at no charge just call them. The fired case is a non issue as it is intended for certain states that require them. In that case you would not receive it anyway, as the dealer would have to send it in to the state.

Are you sure yours was bought as brand new? If yes, I'd go to where you bought it, and demand they provide you with an owners manual. If they go over to another box with an XD in it, and hand you the manual out of that box, and close the box back up and leave it where they found it, then you might now know what happened to your manual.

It was ordered for me personally. It came in the XD box with all of the serial numbers on it. I have been around guns a lot in my life (1st handgun), but it shows no signs of being fired. Is there a way to run the serial number to see if I am indeed the first owner of this gun.
I will go back in and ask for the owners manual.

The dealer would at least have information about where they got it from in their FFL record book. If you live in WA, you could probably get the serial number traced back to anyone that bought it form a dealer in WA, as WA state keeps the "blue form", the one you fill out for the state to know that you are a handgun owner.
