I know this has probably been answered before, but does anyone make a Police duty holster for the 45 tactical with a light. I do not really care what light it is, just as long as it is one of the major brand ones. I see Blade-Tech makes a couple holsters. Does anyone have one of those and use it for duty? Also, I see that the Glock 21 is about the same size. Has anyone tried to see is the Safariland Glock 21 holster made for a light can be used with the XD? Anyway, please give me all of your input!!! BTW, this gun rocks, I bought it last weekend!!!!

I am in the same boat as you. I just bought the 5" tactical and Surfire x200 and my local gun store said they were just out of the Safariland holsters. I just spoke with a Rep from Safariland and she told me that MAYBE in a month or two they will have a holster available. I don't know anything about the Blade Tech, What I do know is the Safariland sounds like it will be cheaper by about 20.00. I'm also a little irked at the gunstore for telling me they were out and should be getting some in two weeks.

It's a great gun, but not much good if I can't carry it the right way.

I have the 6280 for my 4". If Safariland makes one for the tactical, I would buy the holster. They are good holsters. I will be visiting Safariland in Ontario CA next week. I will see if I can chat with someone with some pull.

I use a Blade-Tech on duty and have been happy with it. The one I use for my XD is their "level 2" which pretty much just means it has a thumb break.

I will be buying one of their "WRS" holsters for my Operator.

I've e-mailed Blackhawk and Safariland and both of their LEO Reps said they have a level III holster in the works and should be available sometime soon.

Bladetech in the past been great as stop-gap solution. They made a holster for my tac-light equipped HK-USP 45 when none of the big makers were making anything but nylon SWAT gear. I went back to carrying an 1911 due to the lack of duty holsters for the USP.

Racklover: Hope you can get some forward momentum with your visit to Safariland. I like the Safariland system and will be needing a duty holster for my XD-45 Tactical in a few months when I finish my assignment with Uncle Sam.

I have a 6280 with the light, they will make it for you it takes 3-4 weeks. I have a right hand 6280/light, in clarino, that I would like to sell, I can't use it anymore I use nylon now. I ordered it from GT distributors in Austin. I had to call Safariland first and get all the numbers for it and then ordered it through GT for around $100.

Answered already but as soon as I read this Safariland came to mind...great duty holsters with a variety of retention features IMO.

I just want to be sure I have this straight, If I call Safariland and tell them I have the 5" Tactical and need a holster that will accept a TAC light they will make it just for me? I wish I knew that four weeks ago. I have quals in four days and there my XD will sit. I also wonder why I was not told this by a Safariland Rep when I called four weeks ago

Hell, I could be wrong. I have the service model, not sure about the tactical. I was just shocked because it was not in thier catalog, but they still came up with it.
