Question Threaded Barrel for XD .45 Compact

I want to know if anyone knows where I can get a threaded barrel for my XD .45 Compact. I want to add a suppressor to my weapon and havent been able to find a threaded barrel. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the hyperlink. Do you have or do you know anyone who has one of these Bar Sto barrels. I am wondering if they are worth the money? They are have the price of anothe XD and/or suppressor.

I have never used any of them, but am considering a suppressor as well.

Thanks for the hyperlink. I will have to find out from the company if the 4" Service Model barrel will fit the 4" Compact Model. I would think it would, but I will contact the company to make sure.

They are identical except for the grip length

They are a few who have purchased our Tactical barrels and had them threaded for the benefit of the Service/Compact model. The key is to understand the thread required of the appliance you are looking to connect.

You are best to have a local Smith do the threading, in order for the fit to be perfect. What you don't want is some massive gap between the slide and the appliance.

Good topic guys...
I was wondering the same.
So what do you think is better:
1. Buy another barrel thats already threaded so you can just replace it or
2. Thread your existing barrel
Question: If you thread your existing barrel can you or should you use it w/o the suppressor?
I'm assuming it also depends on the type of suppressor that you want to attach..

you know a "friend of mine" has experimented with homemade suppressors......$62 over 800 will win me over anyday. it might not be fancy or pretty but its sturdy and VERY effective at doing the task it is made for. but remember. this is a "friend" of mine

How are you going to thread your own barrel to use with a suppressor? If you bought a service model, you'll have a 4" barrel/slide and there won't be any barrel extending past the end of the slide to attach anything. Same thing applies if you bought a tactical, you got a 5" barrel. Now, if you have a 4" slide and you bought an aftermarket 5" barrel, that should be threadable. I don't know of anyone making barrels longer than 5" that aren't threaded to work with the tactical models.
