XD Jamming
Has anyone had jamming problems with their XD 45 compact? I'm wondering if it is the Blazer Brass or the 13 round mag. My 10 round mag loaded easily slides and locks but the 13 round loaded mag must be pushed in with some force to lock. I appreciate any input.

I use BLAZER BRASS FOR TARGET"S & HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM. If the weapon does not do this using the 10rnd mags, I would try a different 13rnd mag.

The spring seems to be under more tension in the 13 round mag when full, so that makes it hard to insert if the slide is forward.
You didn't say what kind jamming you were experiencing, or just that you have to jam the mag into the gun?

The jam I experienced was the casing was significantly dented requiring removing the mag to clear. The mag is tight to lock in when fully loaded.

If the mag doesn't seat all the way up...
it probably WILL induce failures to feed. It will be seated too low to feed rounds properly. It seems that SA may have molded the adaptors a little too big. I had one that would not seat right, and did some filing - now it is a bit better. But, I haven't shot it yet, so we'll see.

i have the xd 45 compact, and you are right. if the slide is forward, and the 13 rd mag is full, it takes some effort to seat it properly. mine still seats fine, and feeds fine...just takes some effort. id imagine as the mag breaks in, this will no longer happen. if you seat the full mag with the slide locked back, it will feed fine.
mine doesnt cause any failures though... |
