Talking New Guy / Fanatic on XD'z

So glad I found this site. I thought I was the only one that is somewhat Koo Koo on these great firearms. I recently went out after shooting a Friend's, I bought the 5" tactical, and a compact 4" both 45's. They shoot great, feel great, hold lots of rounds and are so reliable... I love them. I started shooting a while back and bought a High Point 45 Caliber because I thought it was a bargain. LOL... it jammed literally every clip and was absolute rubbish. Out right dangerous, I'm afraid? I round jammed and peeled the bullet from the shell. The shell fell out after prying out out of the gun... the actual bullet I found on the ground ???? Not for me! Any suggestions on making it the best possible? I would like to shoot some competition's. I just bought True Glo Sights... but what else can be done? thanks, Look forward to talking XD'z.

welcome....

lots of magazines, lots of ammo, and lots of practice...those are the 3 best add ons for them.

i guess in all seriousness, an aftermarket solid guide rod and aftermarket recoil spring maybe

I don't know too much about competitave shooting so I'll leave those reccomendation for those taht are involved.

Waht else can be done? But lots of ammo. Those are two fun guns to shoot. I have one of each.

I've added a Don's Fat Guide Rod in stainless steel to the tactical for a little more weight in the nose and a little "bling".

Beyond that, shoot it!

Old School's a forum sponsor and runs a great little biz named....

www.PistolGear.com

....for all your XD-modding needs. And no, I am not in any way associated with Pistol Gear.

But if he wanted to send me a tungsten guide rod for the XD45 Service model as a token of appreciation, I wouldn't turn him down.

You'll be even happier to know the slides are interchangeable. You can take the slide and 5" barrel and put it on that compact frame and the 4" slide and barrel and put in on the full-sized frame and you now have a service model and a compact tactical. You basically have 4 different gun configurations.
