XD 45 Compact vs Tactical vs compact-tactical as far as handling, follow-up shot, rec

Need your advice or recommendations re above issues for my First XD Pistol. I am currently using a Colt 1911 3" Officers Model as I find it better handling than the regular Govt model! Any advice is greatly appreciated......thank you

The short grip on the Compact models is more comfortable for me and I find that the Comp Tac is a bit quicker than my Compact on follow-up shots due to the extra weight up front. If you plan on doing a lot of range shooting or competition, I suggest the Comp Tac. I put Don's fat guide rod in my Comp Tac to add about 2oz more weight on the front end, and also use a heaver recoil spring (#20, instead of the stock #18 spring). This setup is a smooth shooter
