Works great.... have to clean the gun after each use. The wax build up is what chokes off the bullet. I use SWC and RN lead bullets. Again I just have to clean it after each use. I use steelwool... some use the copper scrubbing pads.

well i think the reason it doesnt work well with glocks is because of the polygonl rifleing and the xd has regular rifling and people have been shooting lead out of guns for many years i dont see why it wouldnt work with an xd. i think if you shoot a few FMJ after a round of lead will help the barrel stay a little bit cleaner

I have shot 80 cast lead through it, but as you guys say i have scrubbed the barrel with break free and washed out with scalding hot water, dried and oiled. It looks fine

About all I shoot out of my XDTAC is lead bullets. It doesn't feed the 200grLSWC well, but LFP or LTC or LRN, feeds like a champ & with near match grade accuracy.

Absolutely bad advice about using fmjs to clean lead out of a bore. Good way to blow up your barrel. Clean the old-fashioned way. Firing fmj through a leaded barrel dramatically increases pressures.

I have never had any problems shooting FMJ rounds thru a barrel after lead and I've put a good many rounds thru various guns. If the barrel is leaded so badly you can't shoot FMJs thru it it is either because the lead is way too soft or you are driving them way too fast and melting the lead with the gases from the burning powder, or both.

ive shot ultramax lead ammo through my xd thousands of times...as stated before it does make it that much harder to clean but not impossible.

i never tried running a few fmj rounds down it after all the lead until last range trip, i fired about 150 lead rounds then about 10 winchester jhp rounds out of it and let me say that cleaning was WAY easier that time...enough to where i noticed.

My XD 45 fired LSWC reloads very well but got leaded-up badly in only 70 rounds. I gave up and now I shoot Montana Gold bullets with 100% success.
