Thinking About a .45ACP Tactical
I have an XD 9mm service and an XD .45ACP service. I would be interested in hearing comments from those of you who have both the service and the tactical .45ACP's. I am interested in the tactical, but I can't really justify spending the money on one.

The XD Tactical is a great gun. Let me see, it is reliable, accurate, and comfortable to shoot. The only reason I don't still have mine is because I traded it towards a Dan Wesson PM7 that I wanted more.

Mine is pretty good with the Springer trigger and heavy guide rod. I struggle learning the new trigger after 16 years with a Sig 220 trigger(pretty crisp). You seem to be headed for three XD's and you will most likely prefer the similar triggers.
My efforts to learn the longer trigger on the XD pay dividends on the Sig though. The extra trigger control I am learning is helping with both weapons. Otherwise, The Sig is restricted to Limited 10 shooting and the 13 RND XD ain't the best for Limited. Did I see guys with 29 rnd mags this year? |

I have 2 XD 45 Tacticals and love them both. I'm going to do some work on one of them. I'll most likely send it to Scott for a trigger job and other things.

I love mine. I just wish I could shoot it more. It's been held up in the safe with the round guns and AR's for a while since IPSC season is upon us so the 1911 and XD9 have been getting well used.
I actually like the bigger frame and little more weight it has over the XD9. It shoots a lot better and more accurate than the XD9 (obviously shooter not the gun). I just wish the Canadian distributor could fill all the B/O's for 10rd mags so I can use it as my competition gun.

I have a 45acp Service and a 45acp Tactical which allows me to swap slide and barrel assemblies and basically have 4 possible guns.

I'm missing something here. If you swap the top ends you'll still have a service and a tactical.

I love mine, had Canyon Creek do a trigger job and add a tungsten insert in my guide rod. Shoots even better now than it did and is not picky about the reloads I feed it.
