XD.45 tactical with light Holster

I'm going to buying a XD .45 tactical to compliment my compact. I want a rail mounted light with out a laser. I also want a holster to hold the gun w/light attached. Prefer a drop leg. What are you guys running as far as lights and holsters? I prefer surefire but open to others. I do have expensive taste.

The blackhawk Omega IV series has a w/light option.

I have the glock model(22/23 version since I was originally going to buy an XD40), and both my XD45 compact tactical and my XD45service fit just fine, although I have the version that doesn't accept the light.

Hope that helps.

Just looking at that one with light of course. Does it cover the entire slide on the 5" XD?

Yep, it sure does. I thought it might even be a "close fit" but there is still about half an inch there before the end of the holster, I was impressed.

I think your asking about lights, if not you can stop reading. This summer I was poised to BUY (had department owned ones in the 90's) my first taclight for my xd. I took out the top contenders including the streamlight and surefire for a little "real-word" experimentation. The most versatile, hands down in my opinion was the surefire x200b. Doesn't throw a beam as far as the "a", but man does it cover a room. It is a superbright beam, but almost more important IMHO is that it is a super WIDE beam. Used it Saturday for a building search and am still pleased with my decision. The only thing I would add is that the surefire switches are brutally stiff. Fixed that by popping out the batteries, putting on a leather work glove (blister avoidance) and working the switch all directions during an episode of Mythbusters. MAJOR improvement. I've got some pix on the newbie thread:

I actually owned a X200B but for me I think the A would be better. Just for getting critters around the house at close to medium range. But the B model flooded rooms. I'm a surefire nutt and will probably go back to them. Have yougot any experiance with the trigger guard pressure pad. Seems like a great option. Grip the gun light on adjust grip light off. But hey you tell me.

My two cents may not be the most popular. Pressure pads have been around longer than modern switches and I've had lights with them before. Personally, for pistols, providing you can reach it (problem for some) I like switches. With pads I feel like on one hand I have more "accidental illuminations" but at the same time have to make more of an overt effort to control it. Either way it's a switch for me, and the surefire's push to activate option is sweet.
