Blazer Brass 45acp 11.99 for box of 50

is this a good deal?

The CHEAPSET ammo for .45 i've seen. and its the reloadable BRASS ammo, not the steel casings. and that price is out the door

You can't beat that price for the range can you ?! That's what it costs us here in FL too. How does Blazer do it? Not sure what the cons are if any.

Thats what I pay here in TN. Blazer Brass is the cheapest stuff I can find, and my XD loves it.

11.97 before tax is what I pay at walmart for it. The only other ammo I've found for .45 acp is 11.90 something for lead round nose, but I have to drive 40 minutes one way to get it. Walmart is 1 mile down the road. One of the local clubs has an indoor range and requires LRN (not sure why with all the lead gases being shown as a toxic substance) but if I need to shoot there, that's what I have to get.

12.69 after tax for 50 rounds is why I'm getting a reloading press sometime before the end of the year. Spending less than $5 for 50 rounds sounds better.

Its my primary plinking ammo as an alternative to reloads.

Caution though, quality control leaves something to be desired, make sure you check your ammo. I've had a few that were sized incorrectly with the lips shaved off, or bullet seeded in too far. If I get the time I'll take some pictures.

Considering the price not bad. After 2K of Blazer through my XD 45 Compact, I still have yet to have a dud, or any failures of any sort. Definitely runs cleaner than Wolf, and equal to or a little cleaner than UMC or WWB.

Dad and I did the calculations on the "loads per pound" of powder, and with decent bullets (speer FMJ, or JSWC), and it's around $0.16 per round, or $16 per hundred, or $8 per 50... Then you have to ammertize your equiptment and die costs.

It happens, though, that I live a couple miles from my dad, and he's had all the equiptment since the mid 70's, so none of that cost to me unless I break something!

In case you missed my previous post...

Gander Mountain is nuts. They want .56 cent for ONE round of .45ACP UMC.

Nuts...

Can you imagine while at the range hearing 2 quaters, 1 nickle and 1 penny hit the backstop everytime you pull the trigger?

Nuts...
