I finally did it. Anyone actually use the stock gun/mag holsters?

Well my 3 mag package showed up from Buds on Friday and I couldn't help myself at the weekends gun show. Now I have a gun to go with those extra mags.

I swear I didn't get from the guys table to the door before having at least 3 people comment about how I was going to like this gun. I don't think I've heard any bad comments about it.

My regular belt is from Rafter S Gunleather and runs a good 3/8" thick. No luck getting the holster/mag holders that come in the kit to work. Does anyone really use those things?

Can't wait to function test the first 200 rnds in this baby. Family kept me tied up this weekend . . . maybe next.

I'm using a Blackhawk holster right now but I didnt have any serious issues with the XD Gear holster when I first got it, the Blackhawk just covers more of the weapon. I am currently using 4 of the XD Gear double mag holders on my belt because A:they work and B: the other stuff is either unavailable or horibly high in price for some kydex.

I'm hoping you use 4 of them for competition. Otherwise, you need to consider hanging out on other sides of town.

Well SOMEBODY'S got to "represent"!
Actually it's just an easy way to carry an appropriate amount of ammo out to my shooting area.

Goofy. yes. functional. yes also. It will get you by until you can afford something better. I have an XD gear holster and 3 mag pouches to get rid of. Who buys this stuff?

As far as the holster scratching your finish. You wouldn't think it would happen but it does. I prefer leather or fiber personally.

I use the mag holders sometimes at the range, at least they're functional.

I used the holster temporarily after I purchased my XD until I got a couple of real holsters, but I don't use it anymore.

I use mine when I go camping/hiking/outdoors stuff in general.

It's a little "floppy" (it bounces around a bit to much)

I use it because I don't have the opportunity to open carry anything hardly ever so I just don't spend the money on it.

Dog gone flooding took me forever to get home tonight. I'm chasing the sun trying to get a chance to shoot this new beast. I know I'm gonna love it.

I really can't complain about Springfield giving you the Fobus holster and mag pouch for free. Every other pistol I have ever bought didn't come with anything and on many I had to wait for a custom leather holster to be built (Kramer, Milt Sparks, etc.), or mail ordered (Blackhawk etc.) and had nothing to carry the pistol on my belt with at the range and elsewhere for a while.
The Fobus gets you by and gives you a back up.
