Someone really should...
Create an inexpensive process to flare the bottom of these composite frames for a more open magwell. I'm talking like a heat gun and shove the empty gripframe over a mold to yeild a 1/8 to 3/16 shift in width all around. No add on parts, no necessary mag pads. Just a nominal labor charge.
I wonder how hot it would need to be? How much you could roll it out without a tear or crack? Anyone in the bizz wanna work on that? Stupid idea?

I was thinking of more of a fused magwell. We would need someone that works with plastics and plastic welding.

I "flared" the INSIDE of my XD-9. Between that and the pointy end of a double stack mag you shouldent have any problems if you have any co-ordination at all. The 1911 is a whole different beaste though, I got an S&A well on it lol

Depends a lot on the type of plastic. Some plastics, once thermoset, can't really be reworked. Not sure on the XD.
