I know Magna-port offers autoporting for the XD's barrel and slide, but does anyone know of other vendors offering a muzzle brake or compensator or vented barrel/slide?

I have a ported barrel from EFK for my XD45 tactical.
Accuracy improved, but the recoil reduction would probably be more noticeable with a 9mm or 357sig; something with a little more speed and pressure than the 45acp. All in all I'm happy with it and the shipping was quick.

Was it 10%, 20%, or what? Even barely noticable? I guess a 45 is pretty much lunkin' along, and not having the big pressure venting like a crackin' sonic somethin-r-nuther. I'd also have to guess that a Magnaport system would not have much better impact then. |

It's barely noticeable, maybe 10%, but I never had much trouble with the 5 inch 45acp.
Your grip is a bigger factor in controlling muzzle flip than barrel porting with a standard 45. The porting adds another inch to the barrel and the rifling goes all the way to the end. With a match grade barrel + another inch, the biggest improvement was accuracy. Porting and compensators work better with fast/high pressure rounds. ...It does look pretty badass though.
