Loaded indicator

Greetings,

Am I alone with that issue?

My loaded indicator is always getting stuck up after 200-300 rounds fired. those rounds can be commercial, reload cast lead or reload FMJ.

I thoroughly remove the indicator and clean it, the slide and even the spring. And still, one week after, after firing a few hundred rounds, it is stuck up.

Any tricks here to prevent that?

Thank you

What kind of lube are you using? I have never had this problem.

Unhappy hmmmm...

Close to 600 rounds fired so far and I have cleaned it twice, no problems with indicator.

You may be using too much oil or something?

Yes this happens. I think that you are more likely to experience it with the hard-cast lead bullets than with jacketed fodder because the lube tends to make things dirtier and foul things up. The loaded chamber indicator just gives fouling a place to go and when it builds up - the indicator sticks. There is a old thread on this same issue somewhere on the back pages of this forum.

Try thoroughly cleaning the indicator area however you can and use compressed air to knock loose any loose contaminants. Then, do not use any lube in this area.

Ammo may be a factor too...

I personally have 2000+ rounds through my XD, have cleaned it 10+ times, and have never experienced this issue.
