45 Compact Measurements

Hi guys, I'm seriously considering a compact 45 4" model for some CCW use and am wondering how long the grips are on this model. Can you get a full 3 finger grip even with the 10 round magazine? If some has the measurements of the grip from the bottom of the trigger guard to the mag base plate this would be very helpful, thanks.

Mine measures 2 1/4" from the bottom of the trigger guard to the bottom of the mag plate. I have average size hands and can get most of my pinkie on the grip. It is a very comfortable grip with the 10 rd mag.

+1 on the measurement.

I wear a medium sized glove size 7, no problem with 3 finger grip.

I have large hands and can only get half my pinkie on the grip.
For comparison, I wear size 9 gloves. I will be so happy when Pearce gets some extensions for the compact.

I am not sure on my glove size, but when i shoot mine with the small magazine, i can only comfortably fit 2 fingers on the grip, and the pinky sort of grips the underside of the magazine. It works well like that.

It completly depends on the size and shape of your hand. You need to go to a gun shop and/or range and wrap your mit around one to see how it fits in your hand.

I have the same pistol you're asking about and have fairly large hands. My purpose for buying that model was the same as yours.

Standard grip provides a length of 2 1/8" by my measurement and allows me a 3 finger grip with the 3rd finger across the bottom of the magazine:

The extended grip allows for a full three fingers on the grip with a length of 2 5/8':

The extended mag is tolerable carried concealed, but the extra length of the magazine is noticeable as well as a little less comfortable, but as you can see in the pictures, I'm not using one of the newer "high tech" IWB holsters.
