Light or Light + Laser
Just curious your thoughts on buying a tactical Light only or Light + Laser unit???
I like the light for night issues but have read lot's @ showing your position vs a free held tactical light. Also like the laser, I wear trifocals and no way to miss the red dot focusing long distance vs short and intermediate distances as opposed to acquiring the target through the sights... |

The Million Dollar question.
I like the light only. I believe the theory that you will spend too much time trying to find the laser beam, when you should be able to point and shoot without it. I do think it would have merit as you get older and have trouble finding the sights on the gun in the dark.

Well being in the Army and going through a deployment in Iraq, a laser comes in very handy when you don't have the time to line up sights and you need to just point and shoot. Most laser lights that are made for weapons are usually really bright, and a little larger then a laser pointers dot. During the day (which there's no reason for a light/laser) obviously it's not going to be very easy to see. But in a darker setting, a laser/light combination is going to be nice. Now that doesn't say I would pay alot more for the laser/light then i would for just a typical flashlight. But if they are in the same price range, you might as well get both. We always mount our lights on the weapons. As long as you're not walking around with the light on, it shouldn't pose a problem of them targeting you. If you enter a room and you know they are there, a quick bright flash to see them, bang, and it's over. So personally, I would buy the combination of both.
