XD regular wear?

I hae a XD45 compact, and from holstering/unholstering there are stating to show wear marks where the black finish is wearing off. this this something that occurs because the finish is weak? Is this something that SA will take care of? I must admit I abuse the firearm on a daily basis in my job (many holster/unholsters, bumping, riding in truck, etc) and was wondering if there is a better finish i can get on it....

The finish wearing off is normall holster wear. This will even happen to.......OMG..........Glocks. The treatment on the metal parts actually penetrates a few thousandths of an inch so as long as you don't take a belt sander to your pistol you'll be okay.

Mine are showing significant holster wear after a lot of carrying and shooting, they are only 1-3 years old.

I think the finish could be improved on, but I see a lot of people have theirs refinished anyway.

My XD's still pretty young. I've noticed lots of wear on the slide where the holster clings as well as on my grip safety.

It occurs on every blue gun on earth. Look at the surplus Berettas that cops sell. They have one of the toughest finishes on their slide (bruniton) and it still gets holster wear.

Sa will not cover it under warranty.

FYI, in my experience a finish like hard chrome is more durable but will still rub off eventually.

I think mine have worn less in Kydex holsters than in leather.

I like the character that holster wear brings.
