Question Anybody like the 45 w/o grip

There is a proverbial buttload of accessories for the XD. I hear a lot of praises for grip tape and other grips for the XD and the other day I had a guy tell me I should get a grip for my 45 because of the kick.
I have larger hands, and after about 200 rounds I don't really find the stock grip to be lacking anything. Are these after market grips always an improvement or do some people prefer their stock grip w/o anything on it?
I defiantly would not want to lose my pistol at the wrong time if you know what I mean.

I added an Hogue 18000 slip-on grip to my XD45Compact.
Had to trim a little for proper fit ( cuticle scissors). The palm swells on this slip-on really help with my control of the weapon.

What kick?? XD-45C is a pussycat. It needs no special grip.

+1 Goes for my XD45c and XD9sc............

The XD45 has more of a push than a kick, in my opinion...

I have avg. size hands & find the XDTac grip a perfect fit diameter wise. It's one reason I bought the pistol in the first place. A high cap 45acp that feels like a BHP.

I loved the stock grip a lot until I got a Hogue slip on for it. It helped me grip the gun better and now stock XD's feel naked to me. They're like $8 at PistolGear.com so it's worth a try.
