Loaded indicator stuck?

Greetings,

The pin on the top of my XD45c seems to be stuck half-way up.
I tried to blow out any crap under it with pressure air (from my bosh pressure nail guns tank) and it is still stuck at the same place.

Is there any solution that I can make it go all the way down without removing the pin? Is it a common problem with the XD?

Thank you

My XD45ACP Tactical indicator has been stuck in the up position for a long time. I keep meaning to fix it, but it's a range competition gun only so it's not critical.

I DO use the loaded chamber and cocked hammer indicators by feel during classes and it's a comfort. I got use to all that crap w/ my Beretta 92F, liked feeling for the raised ridge, knowing a round was in the chamber, but I still check my chamber by sight when I have the chance.

I had same trouble shooting wax lubed lead bullets. I had to use a small pointy object to scrape under the indicator to get it clean. I have since moved on to moly coated cast bullets and copper plated cast. No trouble since eliminating the wax lube.

Greetings,

Thank you guys!!!!!

This morning before work, I was able to remove the pin and clean under the loaded indicator and the indicator too. It took me 20 minutes of thorough cleaning because it was very dirty.

Now it is working like a charm.

Thank you

Whatever it's worth, a drop or two of kerosene will dissolve parafin wax.

Keep 'em clean. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

Greetings,

I shot exactly 157 load bullets since I thoroughly cleaned my loaded indicator. Guess what! It was half stuck up. I removed the pin, and found out there was quite a deposit of wax and "crap" under it again.

I tried with a needle and compressed air to remove the crap before having to remove the pin, but it did not work.

The bullets don't seem to have such a high amount of that blue lubricant. In fact, they are quite nicely manufactured.

The previous msg talks about a drop of kerosene. Next time it is stuck, I'll try it for sure.

Thank you
