We replace the factory sear and springs and use parts designed specifically for the reduced travel. No more welding and recuting of the factory parts to achieve the shorter travel. We can also either provide a new high quality trigger bar designed to work with our sears, or modify the stock trigger bar.

I carry that Springer XD .40 as the RO and when the range gets slow I let people shoot it, they all ask "Who did the trigger job?!".

I had CC do a 3.5 on my XD-45 and it improved it considerably. This type of trigger will always have a unique let-off and reset, so it's a matter of mastering it.
Ultimately, the XD went away in favor of a S&W model 625 with a Performance Center master action job. Now that's a trigger.

Jesse (and others),

Y'all need to look at Scott Springer's (Springerprecision.com) trigger job. Out of the box mine was nothing short of armpit ugly. Read about his work on this forum, sent the pistol to him. Told him I wanted a very short take-up, very short reset and a 4.5 pound smooth as glass trigger pull. Also wanted the trigger face to be smooth.

Shipped the pistol Fedex on a Monday. That Friday the pistol was in my paws. I kid thee not. Trigger was everything I asked for and then some. Everyone who has tried my pistol has started drooling and twitching.

Price was very reasonable and his turn time is incredible. No, he doesn't pay me for the shill job!!

Seriously - send that junky trigger to him and let him work his magic. Tell him exactly what you want and you'll get it. In a hurry. Well worth the bucks.

HTH

Paul

Scott does a fine job with his sears and spring kits... I just put one in my XD 45 and its is 4.5.. I didnt put in the trigger bar but I will soon...One of my LEO Friend's qualifyed with MY borrowed XD 45 Compact .. He shot a 298 with my XD(before trigger job)and a 296 with his Sig 220 that he has carried for 10 plus years.. I was the talk of that Dept.... 20 deputys shot the heck out of my personal gun and ALL who shot it qualifyed with it..So some love the stock trigger, but I LOVE THE lower trigger pull..Good to know that the XD is gaining lots of respect..
