Get the 45 compact. Comes with a 10 and 13. Pretty easy to conceal in a CB super tuck. |

I have the XDSc 9mm, XD .40 Service and XD .45ACP Tactical.
They are all for different things, the Tactical has been modified as a range-competition-only gun. If I could only get two, I'd get the XDSC 9mm for small carry and the XD Service .45ACP for larger carry and competition/gun classes. I reload both .40 and .45 but find the .45 has a more friendly recoil. Both are very easy to reload. Both guns are 100% jam-free w/ reloads, but I didn't have good luck w/ all lead bullets.

Shoot an XD and you will find out if you like it or not. Plain and simple. Most people that I have let try my XD 45c have purchased an XD. I like Blocks, I don't own any but I do enjoy shooting them. My gun of choice was traditionally a Sig and now I'm becoming an XD kind of guy. Most people that shoot the XD figure out if they will want one very quickly.

I would love to have a Compact Tactical. I looked one over a few weeks ago and my have gotten one of them if they had been out before I got my 45 Service model.

45 compact 4" = service with a shorter grip
45 compact 5" = tactical with a shorter grip Both can use the full length 13 shot mag and the plastic spacer and look and shoot the same as the service and tactical if you want. But the compact has the option to make is smaller with 10 rounds. Buy the 45 compact, nice gun. I built my own mag extension starting with a Pearce 9mm one. Mine is camo not for looks, but I camo'd the Blackhawk serpa holster, and carry it as a backup/safety weapon when I bowhunt in "cougar country", and use it for hunting wild pigs (boars).

I was looking to pick up a polymer frame 45 and had my mind set on a Glock 21SF. I have owned Glocks since they first came to the US and have found them to be a near perfect tool. A friend of mine is a huge SA fan and pointed me towards the XD. I was impressed with the feel and overall function. I was also sold on the fact that the mags eject fully, whereas Glocks get caught.
Anyhow the XD is not perfect, but is equal to anything out there. BTW, I own a black Service. |

Simple answers
-It fit my hand (big palm, short fingers) better than any other gun. Very secondarily: -Writeups in gun rags where gushing -Won handgun of the year -I shoot Glocks for ****...something about a limp wrist... |

Love my XD45 Compact. Bought it because the reviews were good. I also sat a 45 cartridge next to a 9mm and decided that the 45 would probably do more damage.
45acp are easier to reload than 9mm or smaller, for me anyway. Finally this is one product that lives up to it's ad slogan "it shoots where you aim it"......or however it goes. mine's a nightstand gun with TLR-1 light. Also doubles as a car gun (in the map pocket behind the passenger seat). |

I purchased the XD45 Service Model and I can say is WOW ! Shoots great, carries great, fired 75 rounds an hour after I bought it, shot perfect! Not a single problem and was hitting everything. I was impressed by the trigger, the ability to carry 14 rounds in a pistol where the grip feels like great in your hand. I was comparing the XD45 Service to the Glock 21SF, the grip of the XD feels so much better that it was not a fair comparison. I have carried a 1911 and just about every pistol made, I'm truly impressed with the XD and plan to purchase more XDs in other calibers. And yes I am replacing the guide rod, still bugs me it sticks out.
