New owner...hopefully!
Ok, I'm going to my local gun shop today to try and trade for my first XD45. I'm looking at a black service model and plan to pick up a TLR-2 with it. I first thought that I wanted a compact and thought I might want OD (since I have an XD9SC in OD) but the black service model is what is in stock and I'd hate to have to wait!

Sounds good. You can't really go wrong with either the service or the compact, specially since you already have an SC. They're great. I've attached my friend's TLR-@ to my XD on a few occasions and I must say it looks/works really well - you won't be disappointed.

Went in shortly after lunch and the pistol had been sold!! I was just in there yesterday. Owner called the distributor and the price was up $6. I asked if they had any OD green, they did, and they were $10 cheaper than black...that's the definition of good luck in my opinion. I'll be picking up my new XD45 Service in OD Green tomorrow around 4!
Looks like I need to shop around for the TLR-2 though as they were a tad high on those. Any suggestions or forum sponsors to suggest? |

Best of luck w/your new baby. I've had my XD45C for just 2 days now and can't stop holding and admiring it...haha. I've added a Lasermax laser-rod under the barrel as well as the TLR light on the rail.
I can't shoot it yet though because I also had the slide Duracoated stainless/silver and I have to wait for it to cure for at least another week, maybe 2....It's KILLING ME!! I can try to get a photo of it up here if someone can tell me how to post pics? |

I feel your pain on the wait Mad Greek, a lot of time for buyers remorse. In contrast.. I went in to a sporting goods store a couple weeks ago and saw a S&W 637 on sale at a real good price, I handed him my credid card and CCW, he rang up the sale, I filled out the paperwork, and he handed me the package. I asked why he didn't run the instant check, and he said there was a new law that omits that if you have a ccw. It was about 10 minutes total and I was out the door with my new toy.
I realy hope things get better out your way, but it sure doesn't sound like its going to happen soon. |
