new 45-tac trigger has no click on reset
2 months or so ago, I bought a 45-tac-compact to swap slides with my current 45-service => full-size tactical for IDPA, and 45-compact for carry. all is good except now I'm trying to really ride the trigger on the 45-tactical and get my shot splits down. but, the trigger reset has no tactile click. after the shot goes, I can't feel how far out to let the trigger go before squeezing for the next shot. by trial and error and training I have a decent feel for it, but to avoid a pre-mature trigger pull I basically let it go all the way back out before pulling again.
my compact, on the other hand, has a very easily-detected click while letting out the trigger. I can feel exactly when it's time to squeeze again for the followup shot. when the 4" slide now on the compact was on the full-size frame, it had the nice, solid click while resetting the trigger. so the click seems to follow the slide, not the frame. my questions are: -is this a common thing, the no-click on reset? -is the reset-click , in fact, generated in the slide? -will a swap for the springer precision drop-in kit get me a reset-click? thanks for any help with this. |

I'd have that checked. I sure wouldn't care for a trigger that didn't "click" on reset.
