Hello all I just picked up and XD .45 4" and I am having Problems releasing the magazines, I have 2 10 rd Factory Xd mags and when i load them in it is extremly tight to lock in, and super hard to push the mag release to drop the mags, 1 mag has WWB FMJ 230gr and the other WWB JHP 230Gr, any help would be appreciated.

Is it new?? If so, it will get a little better with use, however, inserting a full mag with the slide closed will always require more force than with an open slide.
Dropping a mag will definitely get easier with time, but again, af ull mag will always be more difficult to drop than an empty mag

I had a similar issue too.
For your short term solution until the springs loosen up, push up on the bottom of the magazine while pushing the release button. It will release wifh no extra force that way. Have fun with that gun! I believe it's the best XD out of the bunch.

Normal, and to be expected. The magazine spring is at its highest compression when a mag is full. The magazine is being held out of the pistol by the force of the spring but this is not the case with an empty mag.

I have an XD-45 Compact and I had the same stickiness. It goes away after you use the gun awhile. Don't worry about it.

I noticed this when my XD45 service was new. Also, I had a feeding problem with one of my mags. I left the mags fully loaded for a week and the problems disappeared.

If you put in the magazine and chamber round #1, the mag only has 9 rounds when you drop it, then you cycle the slide and the #1 round drops out. Yes, the mag is hard to remove when it's new and all 10 rounds are still in it.
