I shot 100 .44's in a day, once...lol My trigger finger was rubbed raw from recoil.

I love it but it usually only lasts the remainder of the day

Back in the day I had a S&W Mountain Gun in .44 Mag. Nice gun but *I* was not very accurate with it. The gun itself was very accurate (as demonstrated by some friends), but I couldn't master it. Well, I just gave up to be honest - the price of ammo was high!

Anyway, I had put about 150 rounds of REM-UMC 180 grainers through it, which isn't a big deal for a .44. The issue was that at box #2 the cylinder latch was catching the inside of my thumb knuckle. It ripped (yes, ripped) a large flap of skin loose and I bled all over the grip. I kept going.

After the ammo was exhausted for the .44 I went to shooting my Beretta M9. At this point another guy walked up and was waiting for a target change. He commented that I must shoot IPDA or the like as the Beretta didn't move in my hand during recoil. He was wrong about me shooting competition, but 100% right bout the Beretta not moving. I was actually watching the slide move straight back at me and the sight barely moving off target. If I had not been at a State Game Range I would have loaded up a full mag and dumped them as fast as I could on target, but that was not the case.

Anyway, there is my recoil anecdote. I sold that S&W and later bought a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt with a 4.75(?)" barrel. I shoot Buffalo Bore heavies out of it on occasion.

Yes, I do enjoy recoil!

Coogan,
You have better discipline than me shooting 150 rds. of .44mag through
a small revolver without developing a flintch. After about 25+ rounds of hot ammo I have to sneak a fired round in the cylinder at random just to keep me honest.
