and im in love! service xd45. i traded my xd9 for this gun because i wanted a little more "oomph". its perfect! recoil isnt too bad. now i feel like if i hit something (or someone, hopefully i never do) they'll actually notice it. all around solid caliber. im very happy with my choice. kinda wish i would have gotten the compact but hey i can always buy another one down the road right!? hmm, OD maybe? anyways i love this gun! only complaint is the cost of ammo, but you got to pay to play i guess.

Congratulations! You will enjoy your new weapon for years to come. Consider reloading to lessen the ammo cost if you are going to shoot a lot. And you probably will.

IMHO the XD45 Service is the best XD made. Just my opinion. I suppose one could aregue the Compacy is the best of both worlds but since I have an XD9SC as my primary carry gun owning the Service makes me very happy. I'm having Springer add Heinie Tritiums on the SC then the Service is going soon after for Dawson night sights.
