Is there a .22 Cal Conversion?

Has anyone seen or heard anything on a .22 cal conversion for the XD 45? I have one for my Colt 1911 and it is SWEET! Allows you to burn thru ammo cheaply and get the feel without the HUGE cost difference.

I sent the following two emails to Springfield and to Advantage Arms yesterday about a kit for the .45acp. I'll let you know if and when either of them respond.

To SA: (sales@springfield-armory.com)
Hello,
I am the satisfied owner or an XD .45acp 4" service model and am interested in a conversion kit to fire smaller caliber ammunition. Are there any such kits that would work with my model pistol?
There is a rumor spreading on XDtalk.com that Advantage Arms is in the process of manufacturing a .22lr kit for the XD, but their website has no mention of such kit. Have you heard anything?
Thank you for your time and attention,
Aaron

To AA: (gunkits@advantagearms.com')
Hello,
There is a thread on Xdtalk.com that contains a picture from the Shot Show of a Springfield Armory XD with your .22lr conversion kit. Is this a product that you plan to release to the public, and if so, what models would the kit fit?
The XD chambered in 9mm/.40/45GAP is supposed to have a different frame than the .45acp. Will there be hope for the owners of the .45acp with a 4" barrel?
Thank you very much for your time,
Aaron

Advantage Arms is introducing these by the end of the year supposedly. They're saying they're starting with the .22LR Kit for the .40 first and other models in the months to come. Give them a call and let us know what you find.

Thanks for bringing this up again. I also have the XD45 4" service model and would like a good 22 cal. conversion for it. I hope they make one.

Here is the reply I got this morning from Springfield Armory when I asked about any conversion kits that they knew of for the XD. I'm still waiting to hear back from Advantage Arms.

Hi Aaron,

I do not know of or recommend any conversion kits for the XD’s at this time.

Thank You for your continued interest in Springfield Armory products.

$ When it comes to practice. Granted recoil is different but for me, my daughter and wife could shoot the .22 all day long and it is cheap. Personally, I would put the kit on a .40 Service Model.
