I have the XD-45 service and two H&Ks USP Compact .40sw&.45acp Both the XD and the H&Ks are well built and quality handguns both shoot great. now the XDs finish is not as good at keeping rust from forming some people say it's the same as the Teffner finish used on Glocks.
Mags cost around $24 for the XD and $35 for H&Ks The XDs new will cost around $300 to $400 less then a new H&K. |

I had an HK USPc .45 and swore by it. After I bought my XD .45 Service I sold my HK. If I had the money I'd buy an XD .45 Tactical over an HK again.

I didn't think the HK 45 was out yet. Are you talking about the H&K USP-45? If that's the case, I have a USP-45 though I don't have an XD-45 yet (tough finding an OD Tactical around here) however, I also have a USP-40C and the wife has an XD-40 Service model. Yes, IMHO, the HK is worth the extra money. Extremely accurate, rugged, uber-reliable and you can configue it the way you want it. With the wife's XD, you can only have it one way. With my USP-40C, I started out with a Variant 1 (manual safety and decocking lever on the left side) but I decided I wanted the ambidextrious option so I was able to swap out those parts. Later when CDNN was selling LEM conversions for $50 I tried that instead and I REALLY liked that setup on my carry piece. My USP-45F has gone from a stock Variant 1 to being ambidextrious, match trigger, Tactical barrel (love that O-ring bushing they use!) MMC sights with a UTL as my "bump-in-the-night-gun" I keep next to the bed.
