I love my Crossbreed SOB. I wear it all day sitting at work and it is comfortable. (may cause future back problems though, which is why I will be getting a SuperTuck when I can)

Not meant to hijack but does a crossbreed squeek like traditional leather?

I just got my crossbreed today. No squeaking. The backing is leather, and the form fitted holster part is kydex. It fits my sc9mm, and my xd45 perfectly. i didnt realize that the trigger guard and rear of the slide were exactly the same size til i tried em both in the holster. The molded part is really stiff and really well fitted. It holds the guns securely, and stays open for as one hand reholster. It's also comfortable with the leather pad covering the body side of the guns.
I got the quick clip http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/fi...sbreedmay7.JPG Last edited by LKB3rd; 09-10-2007 at 03:57 PM. |

I have a Comp Tac CTAC and a Crossbreed Super Tuck, the Crossbreed is without a doubt more comfortable. The large leather back distributes the weight and contours across your hip bone and you really don't know it's even there. I have "J" hooks on mine and fine them very secure but still a hassle to get on and off but worth the effort.

If you are looking for quality, I can without a doubt/100% say the MTAC will be better. I had the C.T.A.C. and a Crossbreed, before I settled on my leather K&D dakota defender. The CTAC is a quality product but wasn't the most comfortable. In fact, I made the first MTAC.
Modified my C.T.A.C. holster...money. The crossbreed has very thin and somewhat poorly fitted kydex in comparison to Comp-tacs products. Comptacs products also have a prefitted sight channel that allows for aftermarket sights. If you're looking for comfort, I'm not sure how the MTAC feels but the CTAC was alright. I would image the MTAC would be similar to the Crossbreed. Maybe slighlty less comfortable if there is kydex positioned b/n the gun and your body (I'm not sure if there is). I ended up with, as mentioned before, the K&D holster. It's made from leather but still has a nice fit. The back of it, similar to the crossbreed, has a sweat shield covered in suede. Not only does this make the holster more comforable, it keeps it from shifting around (I always wear a wife beater underneath the holster). I now have one for my two carry guns, one for my 9mm tac (that I recently used in a shoot) and another on order for a 5" 1911 (that I will also use in shoots). I know I could wear more comfortable OWB and quicker kydex holsters during shoots but I figure practice with what you are going to really play with to be better prepared. Gotta go. Good luck. |

I have all 3 Crossbreed's, and I've been very happy with all of them. I like the supertuck the most, but sometimes go with the qwikclip for a change of pace.
I saw where the lead times are down to about 2-3 weeks, so I'd really encourage you to checkout their holsters. It comes with a two week return policy, so no harm if you decide you don't like it. \\ACB
