This is getting expensive.
Crap. I like my new/used tactical so much Im went today and got a 4" earthtone for my new "car gun" the stainless Champion is for sale. I may have a buyer. This gets worse for J.M. Browning,, I have next to new Stainless Loaded TRP that the Tactical supplanted and it too is for sale that I just had a trigger job, Wilson FLGR, Wilson extended slide release, Wilson wide safety and a S&A magwell to replace that piece of **** lockable one they put in now.
If my Wilson stainless Protector wasnt about the finest 45 I have ever shot it too would be up for sale. I do have a Rock Island generic GI nightstand gun that should be replaced by a bi-tone tactical though. Gad! Done in by a commie gun, and yet I like it. |

The XD's have to be one of the best values out there today. They've had their time in the sun already and their reliability record stands for itself. The accuracy is as good as most shooters. They balance well (the 4" and 5" especially) without being too top heavy for a polymer gun.
Even though I want and admire certain other pistols I can't see anything really supplanting my XD's as everyday guns, ever.

When my buddy first brought his XD40 out, I went in thinking "Oh, cr*p, another plastic gun to try" and ended up with my XD45.

Speaking Of $$$
Don't get into trap shooting! Mid range Browning Citori or similar, O/U set up for trap shooting runs about $3,600 new. Case of shells is $43 at the club, round of trap is $3, plus the $2 "range fee" for the "trap boy."
Most week-ends I shoot about 6 rounds. That's about $50. You need a trap vest, shooting glasses, probably a bag for hulls, ammo bag for the range. Etc. etc. (Usually end up buying lunch at the range.) -- And I'm looking at a third Citori. |
